To provide an up-to-date list of recommended national, state, and local services for academic, digital literacy, wellbeing, and practical support.

5. First Nations Support Services

The following services are available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students seeking cultural, emotional, health, or community support. All students are welcome to access these services regardless of whether they have identified in their enrolment.

  • 13YARN — 24/7 crisis support line run by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people: 13 92 76 — www.13yarn.org.au
  • Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) — Health and wellbeing services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria: 03 9411 9411 — www.vaccho.org.au
  • Link-Up Victoria — Counselling, support, and connection to community for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people: 1800 037 021 — www.linkupvictoria.com.au
  • Aboriginal Victoria — Victorian Government information and services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities: www.aboriginalvictoria.vic.gov.au
  • Healing Foundation — National organisation supporting healing from the impacts of trauma for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people: www.healingfoundation.org.au


6. How to Use

  • Students may contact any service directly, or request Admin/Student Support to assist.
  • If you would like help identifying the most appropriate service for your situation, contact the Director – Student Wellbeing & Progress at student.support@australianshiatsucollege.edu.au or 03 9387 1161.
  • The Directory is updated annually and provided on ASC’s website/LMS and in student handbooks.
